Here are steps to help you setup your work phone to call through your cell phone. If you haven't done so already, please contact the help desk to get an account to use with the web based phone client. Please note that if you have a cell phone number that is long distance from campus, you will need to let us know when requesting your account.
Once you have a login, please login to the web client at http://voicemail.nwciowa.edu/login
How to add and route calls to your cell phone
To add your cellphone to the web client, click on the button located at the top left of the screen and select "Configure Phones..." from the list of options as seen below.
A property box will open (you may need to allow pop-ups in your browser for the site). In the box that says Mobile, enter your cellphone number and then click on save as seen below.
Once you have saved your mobile number, click on "Incoming Call Routing" from the menu on the left. This will open the call routing settings. Next select Mobile from the "Incoming Calls Ring" select box and then click on save as shown below.
How to place calls from your office phone number using the web client
The web based client will allow you to dial numbers from your cell phone that will appear as if you are calling from your work phone. Here are the steps to do so. You can also reference the screenshot below.
- Type a name or number in the text box at the top of the web client screen just below the top menu
- Click on the name or number to place the call
- Wait for your cellphone to ring. It will show that it is calling from your work number
- Answer the call and then it will ring through to the number or person you are calling and the number they will see calling them will be your office phone number.
